The resolution below was passed at the 11 June 2009 Freeholders meeting (see the 11 June minutes online). Mr. Magazzu has stated repeatedly that no county worker should make more than $75,000. However, the salary range for this “confidential assistant” goes to $100,000. Isn’t it hypocritical of Mr. Magazzu to vote for a salary range that goes higher than the $75,000 he is always talking about? Also why does the Freeholder Board need a confidential assistant? I thought government was supposed to be an open process?

Resolution Establishing 2009 Salary Range for Confidential Assistant
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS OF THE
COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND, as follows:
That the 2009 salary range for Confidential Assistant is hereby set as follows:
Confidential Assistant $33,230 – $100,000
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of Chosen Freeholders held at the
Cumberland County Court House, Broad and Fayette Streets, Bridgeton, New Jersey on
Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. prevailing time.
