Mark Stratoti, director of the Cumberland Manor announced his resignation.
Stratoti, who has not returned telephone calls and an e-mail seeking comment, sent a short e-mail Aug. 26 to county employees announcing his decision. The county released a copy of the e-mail Thursday after a request by The Daily Journal under New Jersey’s Open Public Records Act.The e-mail reads: “I would like to take this time to thank everyone in county government who gave me the chance to lead Cumberland Manor for eight years. However, the direction the county has decided to take this past year has caused me to rethink my situation.”
I was privileged to work with Mark at Leadership Cumberland County, a program that Lou Magazzu helped strip and decimate with backroom politics after ensuring that the coordinator was driven away. Mark is one of these rare public servants that actually does care about his job and his community, unlike anybody that Lou Magazzu has endorsed. This is certainly a loss for the Manor, and a loss for Cumberland County.
