Philly 10’s Top Ten

No comment, just watch. He made it up there with Sandusky!

Oh, and for the record, what he did is not even on the same level as Sandusky. What Sandusky allegedly did was criminal, what Lou admitted he did was just stupid.

And why hasn’t NBC10 been sued? After all, by inclusion on their list, they have implied that Magazzu is a criminal. Oh, and if you’re wondering whether or not what Carl does on this site is journalism, check out the column on the definition of “journalist” in today’s Daily Journal, especially the last paragraph.

  2. Guess-Who says:

“There’s one certainty in all this: Defining a “journalist” and therefore what constitutes a free press can no longer fairly depend on appearances, education or employment, on the manner of distribution or the size of circulation or audience.

A once-glib response to the “who” question has been: “You are a journalist when you say you are.” Add in the requirement of a clear intent to inform others, and such a simple — and free speech- and free press-friendly — definition of an old profession just might fit best in the Internet Age.”

This was written by Gene Policinski who is vice president and executive director of the First Amendment Center, 555 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, D.C., 20001 and is the last 2 paragraphs in an Article Published in the The Daily Journal Dec 27th 2011

  3. CBKennedy says:

@Calhoun—excellent point, L Magazzu is right up there with accused murderers, pedophiles, and amoral people who engage children in criminal activity. Perhaps NBC10’s pockets are a little too deep for Mr. Long and the rest of the CCDO?

  4. Wildwitch says:

Sorry I didn’t see him on the slide show.

  5. WuLi says:

WW – right you are. I suppose that NBC10 is reading the comments. I posted a comment on their site (the comment is still there) and informed them that including him in a slide of alleged criminals was inappropriate – there is nothing criminal about sending pics of oneself to another consenting adult. It seems they took notice.

  6. CBKennedy says:

@WuLi—off topic/thread, but, did you ever receive the phone records for Mags cell phone?? Just curious, and how can they side step such readers when it is taxpayer $$$$ ??

  7. Calhoun says:

Carl’s post here is why many of us like this site. Carl has no reason other than absolute fairness to feel compelled to point out cases where Lou has been treated unfairly.

As a Cumberland County Democrat, I wish I could say the same about my local party’s leaders. Unfortunately, I cannot.

And please people, when you see me, please don’t tell me how misinformed I am about Whelan.. He has had his chance to show his true colors, and I have never once seen him stick his neck out. What’s the matter Bill? Worried that the BOD at Colonial Bank might not like your conscience forcing you to have a gut check?

  8. baba says:

I still like Whelan. He is one of the few bankers with a conscience.

  9. Guess-Who says:

Whelan is a Politician that TALKS out of Both Sides of his MOUTH,
    Nothing more & Nothing less!

Now; as to the PUPPET Strings that had been ATTACHED during his Tenure as Director, the PUBLIC will have to Wait & See if they are still being PULLED!

  10. WuLi says:

@ CBK – the county sidesteps OPRA requests all the time because NJ law has no teeth unless you have deep pockets. The county can ignore or refuse a request, and our recourse is to file a complaint with the state, which will sit in a queue and generally be decided in favor of the county out of shear laziness of the bureaucrats. That has been the case here with several OPRA’s.

The other option is to go to court, which requires a filing fee and attorneys, since the county would counter-attack (at taxpayer expense) with their own lackey attorneys speaking gobbledy-gook that the average citizen would have no way of countering.

I have posted all of the information received, so at least anybody interested enough in Cumberland County government knows that the county WILL withhold any information they deem embarrassing to the administration, and they will protect their own, int he same manner that they bypass sunshine laws whenever they think they can do it undetected.

@baba – if Whelan was such a stand-up guy, he would have spoken out already against the SLAPP lawsuit his string-pullers have waged on me. But he knows which side his bread is buttered on, and can not be counted on to do the right thing when the puppet-masters speak.

  11. baba says:

Wuli, I have it on good inside information that Whelan doesn’t use butter on his bread. Please, Please get your facts straight before you malign someone.

  12. baba says:

did anyone save a copy of the top 10 before it was pulled?

  13. WuLi says:

I didn’t. Lou is not involved publicly, as far as I have heard. As long as his current activities have no bearing on the public at large, he is off of my radar. If or when he ever decides to enter the political arena again I have an extensive file of stuff that has yet to see the light of day.

IMHO – NBC10 was way off base by including him on that particular article. I have to admit that I did find it amusing in a sick way at first, but it served no purpose but to rub salt in old wounds. It’s time to move on, he was no demi-god and it seems there are plenty of others ready to fill the empty shoes left by him.
