A resident agrees – Bill Whelan, stop the “pissing and moaning”

In the News of Cumberland County:

To the Editor:

In response to Freeholder Bill Whelan’s wailings and The News editorial bias (The News, April 19, “Keep party out of county hiring”): In my 60-plus years of civic and political involvement, I have never heard such crying, carrying-on, pissing and moaning in my life.
The winning party was elected by a majority vote.

They are by law entitled to appoint people of a like mind to help them implement the ideas that got them elected.

In the upcoming election do you not think the winners will appoint people who think like they do?

The rules of Civil Service protect the workers. The appointed people are hired to install and promote policy.

If the next election changes the policy, you can rest assured new people will be appointed to help install new policy.

When the R’s demonstrate that they are better than the D’s people may listen. Until then everyone will know that it’s the same old deal, maybe even worse. Just check out the disgraced people advising the R’s. Wuli needs to cover this story.
