OT Issues

The Republican Freeholders have focused, rightfully so, on excessive overtime at the county jail. Excessive overtime indicates a problem at the supervisory level. However, they are quiet about the overtime abuses at the OEM/911 call Center. One has to wonder just what photos of who to what with who are in James Matlock’s possession that all of the Freeholders refuse to question his ability to properly manage his departments, let alone the plethora of lawsuits invited to the county under his reign.

He investigated the Cumberland Manor. So he has dirt to expose on the Freeholder’s. They will not touch him. Can anybody tell me if Matlock has worked Monday thru Friday 830AM to 430Pm @ the OEM/911 center. (NEVER) Stop @ Cow-Towne tomorrow you will find Matlock there.

The Republicans are focused on the OT at the jail because the warden is a Dem party boss. Don’t be fooled into thinking they care about anything other than political power. Overtime is a natural occurrence in ANY 24 type job; whether it be corrections or the electric company. I doubt there’s any more waste at this county jail than any other, or any state prison for that matter. There is waste in ALL government. As there is waste in ALL business. That is the dirty little byproduct of humans being human.

I’m no fan of the Dems or the Reps in our county. We are all casualties of there dirty little power war.

How quickly people forget. Matlock was a special delivery from the Bernie Brown empire through L>M> (another of his puppets)… He was an issue there and in the private sector there is no taxpayer money to payout for claims against someone. If you get a chance, talk to some of Matlock’s old SP associates and they’ll tell you he was a slacker from the outset but one great butt kisser. Plus, with Gruccio on his side (I believe she went along with Mag on his hiring at the outset) there is little chance of canning him. I hope the other Freeholder R’s are just giving him a little more rope so he will undoubtedly get rid of himself. But a more more like reason for keeping him there is because they are all afraid of losing Brown’s financial backing. Although by now with the Social Services building rent and such you would think they owed him nothing.

It is actually cheaper to pay the overtime at the 9-1-1 center than to hire more employees and have to pay benefits. Matlock’s sae was all a matter of timing. They held off so long that the public pressure was arising over the repuiblican attack on democratic appointed people. They will continue to slip their people in, they are just keeping it a low profile now. What is Gonzalez doing at the 9-1-1 center? Nothing from what i hear. I guess he really didn’t have any talents. The vote happens in November, the changes in January AGAIN!!!
